B2B Website for Retail Customers

Designed a Shopify B2B platform that streamlines ordering and communicates business brand story.

ROLE

Sole UX/UI Designer

TIMELINE

2.5 months

PLATFORM

Shopify

Problem

The business needed a scalable B2B website that could:

  • Establish retailer trust through clear company and product information
  • Restrict wholesale pricing and ordering to approved retail customers
  • Enable retail customers to place orders online

However, I initially lacked deep familiarity with retail customer workflows and pain points.

Process

1

Research & Understanding Users

Researched retail users via tutorials on sourcing products, identified common pain points, and interviewed our CEO and Sales Manager.

2

Low-Fidelity Planning

Created simple low-fidelity layouts to define content structure and hierarchy

3

Theme Selection

Evaluated Shopify themes and selected the closest match to the low-fidelity layout to accelerate development

4

Design + Implementation in Parallel

Designed and implemented in Shopify, adding custom code and iterating rapidly.

125%

online traffic growth

Driven by clearer navigation and discoverability

82%

repeat purchase rate

Supported by a smoother, trust-building ordering experience.

100%

wholesale pricing control

Restricted pricing visibility to approved retailers, protecting B2B margins.

Reflection

This project taught me how to design and ship under real-world constraints by balancing speed, functionality, and visual quality. Designing directly within Shopify reinforced the importance of aligning UX decisions with implementation feasibility to drive measurable business outcomes.
